Rosehill Christian Community

Well it is now 18 hours since Rosehill's football team thouroughly dismantled Austin Hill Country 81-36. I have finnaly thawed out and am now thinking clearly. The press box gives a person a different view of the game and the happenings sourounding the game. Here are a few of my observations.

-It is curious how many times students are looking for a way out of our school, wether it be by graduation or transfer, yet they return whenever possible. Is it possible that the grass in in fact not always greener on the other side of the fence?

-Being the father of a cheerleader, and not always the biggest supporter of the sport, (activity) I must admit that Rosehill's squad is quite talented and hard working. Their dances and routines are well choreographed and enjoyable.

-Our football team is extremely well coached, and disciplined. Coach May does not get enough credit for what he does. Football in Texas is king, and the success of our team, 3 district titles in a row, brings a great deal of recognition to our school.

-If it were not for the homeschool players, we would not be able to field a football team. Why would a male student at Rosehill chose to not play on the schools most sucessfull team.

-Paul Ashe and Jef Fry are invaluable members of the athletic department.

-What will the Smelek's do with all of their free time next year.

-Leslee Plum and Rachel Ramirez have a difficult time completely understanding the game of football. Keep trying girls.

-Football games under the lights on a cold crisp night is the way to go. Maybe next year we should have a few games on friday nights

-Exactly what were Josh and Cameron doing in the press box saturday night?

-Students notice when teachers show up to games and events. They appreciate it and it makes them feel that the staff looks at them as more than just someone sitting in a class.

-Pound for pound Chris Salazar is the toughest athlete at Rosehill. He may be 160lbs and yet he has delivered some crushing blows on defense this year.

-Johnny Tumlinson gives new meaning to word evasive. I am not sure whether he is running to the end zone or just simply running for his life.

-Brian Smelek is Mr. Eagle sports. He always gives 100%, is a Christian gentlemen who always shows repect to the people around him, is a good student, and always has a smile on his face. Lets hope saturday is not his last game.

-GO EAGLES!
